STEPUP FOR?

On Monday the 12th, we made our way down to our state's capital, Oklahoma City. We visited the Capitol Building to join others in voicing our opinion about the HB 1033 bill (teacher pay raise). Our experience had its highs and lows. First off, there were so many people representing their schools and what they believe in. We talked to many representatives and although they were already set on their vote, we did try to get them thinking on the subject.

I think we made an impact with our signs and being kids. Our pictures are even on a few news articles. Each of our signs had a teacher's name on it that really made an impact on our lives and made us really love our education. Even though the bill did not pass, I think it was still a great thing to be a part of and it gave us an insight to what its like to be a representative.
